Privacy Policy

Last updated October 26, 2026

SenseCalc ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use sensecalc.com, how we use it, and your choices.

The short version

  • You don't need an account to use SenseCalc.
  • The numbers you type into calculators stay in your browser. We don't store your income, balances or other inputs. If you choose to share a result, its numbers are in the link you share.
  • We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the site.
  • We use cookies, including cookies from Google for advertising and (if enabled) analytics.
  • We never sell your personal information for money.

Information we collect

Usage information. When you visit, we record anonymous events such as page views, which calculator was used, the referring website or campaign (for example, a search engine), approximate location (country, region and city derived from your IP address by our hosting provider), device type, browser and operating system. We use a random first-party cookie (sc_vid) to count unique visitors; it isn't linked to your name or email. Your IP address is stored only in a one-way scrambled (hashed) form for security and abuse prevention.

Information you give us. If you contact us, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your email address and the page where you signed up. If you send feedback on a calculator, we keep your answer and any note you write.

Calculator inputs. Inputs are processed in your browser. They appear in your browser's address bar so you can bookmark or share results, but we don't save them on our servers.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to SenseCalc and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), ads are shown using a certified consent management platform and you'll be asked for consent before personalized ads are used.

How we use information

  • to run, secure and improve the site and its calculators;
  • to understand which pages are useful and fix problems;
  • to reply to messages and send the newsletter you asked for (every email has an unsubscribe link);
  • to show advertising that keeps the site free.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (hosting, database, email delivery, advertising and analytics), when required by law, or to protect the site and its users. These providers may only use the information to provide their services.

Retention

Anonymous usage events are kept for up to about 13 months. Messages and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including California under the CCPA/CPRA and other US states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, contact us. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You can also use Google's ad settings above to turn off personalized ads.

Children

SenseCalc is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, store passwords for our staff accounts with strong hashing, require two-factor authentication for staff, and limit access to data.
